Osteopathy
Balance ~ Motion ~ Resilience
Anchor 1
Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a gentle, non-invasive form of manual therapy that promotes the natural healing processes of the body for improved health and wellbeing.
It requires an in-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, and osteopathic principles as well as refined palpation, assessment, and treatment skills.
Osteopathy recognizes the interconnection of the body's structure and function, the inherent motion of all fluids, tissues and fascia, and the unified wholeness of all body systems and the emotional, mental, and spiritual.

This wholeness sits in an ocean of natural healing mechanisms to maintain, sustain, balance, restore and regulate all its functions. Every part is in motion, breathing with the intelligence within this ocean, the Tide.

The quality of motion reflects the state of health and systemic balance. When motion is restricted, health and vitality can diminish, and pain and dysfunction result.
The aim of osteopathy is to restore wholeness, balance and harmony.
It looks for the cause behind the symptoms, and where the body is trying to make a change. It works with the healing mechanisms to release tensions and blockages, and restore alignment, motion and function.
We listen to the wholeness, acknowledge the therapeutic forces present, and follow the unfolding treatment towards health and wellbeing.
Osteopathy is built on a rich history of dedicated individuals who continue to further our understanding of healing. Dr. A.T. Still DO, founded Osteopathy in 1874. Dr. W.G. Sutherland DO discovered cranial osteopathy. Dr. James Jealous DO developed Traditional Osteopathy from a Biodynamic perspective.
